Salary: £29,120 per annum (rising following successful completion of probation)

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Laser Programmer to join a growing and well-established manufacturing business based in Nottingham.
Working within a modern production environment, you'll play a key role in creating efficient laser cutting programmes that maximise material utilisation, improve production efficiency and ensure customer specifications are achieved. Produce accurate laser cutting programmes from customer drawings and CAD files
Create efficient nests to maximise material utilisation and minimise waste
Generate production documentation, including route cards and work instructions
Ensure programmes meet customer specifications and quality requirements
Review engineering drawings and identify potential manufacturing improvements
Liaise with Production Planning to prioritise urgent work and meet customer deadlines
Work closely with Sales and Estimating regarding manufacturability and material requirements
Maintain programme documentation and revision control
Support prototype work and new product introductions
Assist with resolving programming and production-related issues
Drive continuous improvement by reviewing programming methods and increasing efficiency
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety procedures and company standards
We're looking for someone with previous experience programming laser cutting machinery within a manufacturing or sheet metal environment.
Essential Skills & Experience
Previous experience as a Laser Programmer
Experience using CAD/CAM programming software
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Good understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Confident using Microsoft Office
Able to work independently and collaboratively within a busy production environment
Desirable
Experience using Bystronic BySoft, Trumpf Boost, SolidWorks or similar software
Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems
Experience within precision engineering or sheet metal manufacturing
Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement
